New GCHQ CyberChef Open Source tool has some useful networking elements.

Just played with the new CyberChef tool GCHQ has put up on GitHub, Just had a quick play with the "Parse IPv6 address" & "Change IP Format" functions also useful for embedding IPv4 into IPv6 and checking IPv6 addressing among other things!

Simulating Emulating WAN Latency in Linux - Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic Control

Needing to simulate delay to test an application ability to fill a pipe in the prototype lab, I needed to emulate the latency to get a more realistic view.  The blog post from Benjamin Cane (tc: Adding simulated network latency to your Linux server) got me onto this method.  I also found tc man page & ArchLinux Advanced Traffic Control Wiki useful for a deeper dive.
